BMC is governed by a Board of Governors chaired by Mr. John Ndyabagye. The Board currently has 07 members (Cleophas Bennie Tumuhairwe, Dr. Vian Namanya, Mr. John Ndyabagye, Mrs Justine Tumwesigye, Rtd Bishop William Magambo and District Education Officer and the District Health Officer for Bushenyi). The secretariat is headed by the Medical Director Dr. Vian Namanya who oversees the day to day operations of the centre assisted by Clinic Administrator Mr Cleophas Bennie Tumuhairwe who all Report the C.E.O Hon Dr.Elioda Tumwesigye. The C.E.O Oversees and directs the running of BMC Clinics
Dr. Elioda Tumwesigye is a Ugandan Epidemiologist specialist with over 20 years experience in health systems. Dr. Tumwesigye holds a Master of Science (MSc) Epidemiology and Biostatistics degree, Case Western Reserve University, Ohio, USA (1997); a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) from Makerere University (1989); and various Diplomas and Certificates in different HIV/AIDS related fields. Elioda is currently a Member of Parliament for Sheema County North, Bushenyi District & Minister of science, and Technology & Innovations in the Republic of Uganda. He also served as Chairperson Parliamentary Standing Committee on HIV/AIDS; Member Parliamentary Sessional Committee of Social Services; a Member of the Budget Committee of Parliament and Chairperson of the Inter-Parliamentary Union HIV/AIDS advisory group.
Dr Elioda was the program director for the Bushenyi PMTCT program supported by EGPAF as well as for the CDC supported home based Counseling and testing program (HBVCT). He is a clinician, researcher, publisher of HIV/AIDS books, and a community mobilizer. He was among the people who in 1993 initiated the first ever health radio program on an FM station in Uganda (Capital Doctor) Program. In 1999, he initiated the Stay Safe and Smart (Triple~S) Initiative which included an radio program in the local language (Runyankole). Dr. Elioda is founder and CEO of BMC Clinics.
