Since 1993
Bushenyi Medical Center (BMC) is a private, not-for-profit medical center located in Bushenyi-Ishaka town council registered in Uganda as a company Limited by Guarantee without share capital. BMC also has annual operating licence as Medical Care Facility from the UMDPC. BMC is governed by an all Uganda Board.
Established in 1998 by Dr. Elioda Tumwesigye, BMC provides a wide range of medical services including surgery, maternity services, general medicine, laboratory services, x-ray and ultrasound, Physiotherapy medicine and inpatient facilities. The center also runs several health programs including a comprehensive HIV care program, School Health Made Easy program, Community Subsidized Health Plan for all, Health Promotion and Prevention services through Radio Programs and the OVC program.
BMC operates Clinics in Bushenyi and Kabwohe which are Open 24 hours with in and out patient’s services; The center operates with full time staff offering affordable, professional quality health services; full time doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians, pharmacy and social workers.
The clinics serve Communities in the five Greater Bushenyi Districts through a network
Of 20 Outreach stations that include Nyamushekyera Prison & Kyabugimbi in Bushenyi, Mitooma, Kashensero, Bitereko & Kiyanga in Mitooma, Kashaka,Kazinga,Kisenyi & Katunguru in Rubirizi, Kyengando, Kashozi, Mabaare, Kakindo, Muziira & Kishabya in Sheema and Bihanga, Butare, Engaju & Mushasha in Buhweju, and has developed a network of volunteer Community Owned Resource Persons trained on HIV counseling and testing.
The center's mission is to provide affordable, high quality and reliable health care to the rural people.
